My mother WAS Unable to care for me so she left me in the care of my grandparents (her mother andstep-father). Also in the home were my aunt and uncle. AbuseOccurred we BASIS daily at the hands of my Dad (grandpa).Sometimes It Was mentally abused purpose Usually It Was Bothphysical and verbal abuse. Everyone in the Household WAS ToldThat They Were no good and never Would Amount to anything.In my opinion, my uncle bore the brunt Usually abuse history. Themental cruelty never stopped, Even After we all escaped the home.Papa's words echoed in our heads long Passed Away After ET.Some of us dealt with (or are dealing with) the shame. Some of usSought (or are seeking behavior) Counseling to Understand That ItWas Not us. It Was His Problem. Others Passed from this lifeRemaining in pain and full of shame.Five days before Christmas 2011, my uncle hung Himself to escapethe torment of years of history and echoes the father's voice inhistory head. With the Economic Conditions ET HAD to say all ofhistory lost money in the stock market. Because He Was Offereddestitute my aunt to Let Him move back home and live with her. HeTold her father That history HAD ABOUT HIM beens right all along.He Was a loser and never Would Amount to anything. Grassley's position on violence against women the right is disappointing

The administrator of the National Survey of domestic and sexual violence by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released in December reported that approximately 1 in 3 women were sexually assaulted by her partner and 1 in 4 women were assaulted physically by an intimate partner.
Congress is considering reauthorization of the Violence against Women, which funds domestic and sexual violence.

Senator Grassley, who has always been favorable, said in his testimony before Congress that, "There is nothing ... the need for the law which would disagree with ... I obviously want the law is reauthorized. "While our organizations understand that there were questions Senator Grassley thought worthy of consideration before approval, it does not seem possibleto justify their lack of support.
In a statement to the Senate, Grassley cited problems Government Accountability Office concluded that "remain" with the VAWA programs, and uses several examples of apparent misuse of federal money.
A letter from Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich said: "We do not have a" serious problem "with brokers who do not meet the requirements." Although our organizations agree that the funds must be used with integrity and due diligence, there is no evidence that these issues have led to Senator Grassley to retain its vote in favor of support and protection for victimsthrough VAWA.
Grassley also insisted on a new requirement that local programs for victims of match 25 percent of all funds received VAWA. Local programs suffer the same effects of the economy worldwide.Donors have less to offer, private foundations are under the grant, and local businesses have less to invest in the community.
The lack of financial support does not mean that the local community is not compatible with the work of domestic violence and sexual assault agencies. This means that communities are in trouble and have no money to give. Grassley asked is that mostdomestic violence and sexual assault programs to squeeze blood from a turnip. By refusing their support, questions are raised about the commitment of Senator Grassley to serve victims.
Finally, Grassley cited weakened economy as their reasons for proposing that the VAWA funds remain level for five years without the possibility of an increase. Our latest data show that in Iowa September 15, 2011, 117 victims were not able to receive services, and 43 percent of local programs said the lack of funding as the reason why victims could not be considered.
These figures are virtually unchanged from the previous year. What changes is that funding continues to decline, while demand for services continues to increase, 96 percent of programs reported an increased demand for services.
Anyone can see that domestic violence programs and sexual assault can not afford to lose money, he can not afford victims the level of funding. Limit their access to services and supports that will keep them safe from their abusers.
VAWA was supported by a wide range of organizations across the country to a religious legal assistance to national partners in the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Our organizations are sad because Senator Grassley has not shown significant support and unconditional, not only the renewal of VAWA, but victims who are served by domestic violence and sexual assault agencies in your state and the countries.
